After receiving feedback from each of our members, please know Learn to Swim will break for Christmas from 18/12/23 - 07/01/24 (inclusive), which is a week longer than usual.

Our plan prices are increasing from 01/12/23. The new cost for will be $65 per month, per child.

Program Fees | $65.00 Per Student Per Month (Ongoing Direct Debit)

Families will be able to access classes all year round, with no term structure and best of all no cancellation fees and no need to re-book after each term.

Note: We require 30 days' notice of cancellation. Simply email swim@balancecollective.com.au to request a form.

Casual Lessons | $20.00 Per Lesson

Booked on the day of lesson. No transfers or make-ups.

Private Lessons | $180.00 (5 Lessons)

Each lesson is 30 minutes and subject to availability.

If you would prefer to enrol via paper forms, please see a Balance staff member in club.

* Lessons will be available all year including holidays, only breaking for 2 weeks over the Christmas period.  We do not run lessons on designated NSW public holidays.

NSW Gov First Lap Vouchers

We’re now accepting First Lap $50 voucher for parents, guardians and carers of children aged 3-6 years old (who aren’t enrolled in school).

These vouchers can be used towards the cost of swimming lessons to develop important water safety and swim skills. Vouchers expire 30/06/24. Find out more at Service NSW.

NSW Active Kids Vouchers

We accept Active Kids vouchers.

The Active Kids program provides one $50 voucher for parents, guardians and carers of school-enrolled children to use towards sport and active recreation costs each year.

This voucher can be used towards the cost of swimming lessons to develop important water safety and swim skills.

Voucher 1 – 2024: Available from term 1 

  • Applications open: 1 February 2024
  • Apply for and use the voucher by: 28 December 2024

Voucher 2 – 2024: Available from term 3 

  • Applications open: 15 July 2024 
  • Apply for and use the voucher by: 14 July 2025

Aqua Babies (6 to 16 mths)

• 6 months - 16 months

• 7 children per class with parent/carer

• Carer and infant aquatic education

• Water familiarisation

• Fun exploration and mobility activities

In these classes children are introduced to the aquatic environment with the help of their parents. We guide parents in methods that will help their child to develop confidence, be happy in the water and willing to learn.

Session times:

Monday - Friday AM and PM classes running

Saturday & Sunday AM classes running

Aqua Tots (16 mths to 2.5 yrs)

• 16 months - 2.5 years

• 7 children per class with parent/carer

• Carer and infant aquatic education

• Water familiarisation

• Fun exploration and mobility activities

• Breath Control Activities with bubble blowing

• Propulsion - attempting to move through the water independently of parent.

This is an extension of the babies class with more age appropriate activities and skills focusing on motor skills and safety to prepare children to transition into a class without their parent.

Session times:   

Monday - Friday AM and PM classes running

Saturday & Sunday AM classes running

Aqua Tykes (2.5 to 3 yrs)

• 2.5 years - 3 years

• 3 children per class with parent/carer

• Breath Control Activities with eyes in water and bubble blowing

• Water exploration activities

• Propulsion - Able to move through the water (aided and unaided by teacher)

• Safety Jumps - Jumps into the water, turns around and returns to the wall (aided by teacher)

This is a transition level where students explore the water without their parents for the first time. When the student turns 3 years old they will move to Level 1 regardless of their skill level.

Session times: 

Monday - Friday AM and PM classes running

Saturday & Sunday AM classes running

Learn to Swim Level 1 (3 yrs+)

• 3 years +

• 3 children per class

Working towards:

• Breath Control Activities eyes in the water and bubble blowing.

• Buoyancy and flotation activities. 

• Propulsion - Able to move through the water independent of teacher.

• Safety Jumps - Jumps into the water, turns around and returns to the wall (aided and unaided by teacher).

• Body Position- Working towards horizontal in water with good flutter kick.

• Learning basic dog paddle

This is a beginner level for first time swimmers 3 years and over or for those progressing up from the infants classes.  Focus is on placing eyes in the water, muscle memory kicking working towards a strong flutter kick, breath control and starting to get the right body position.

Session times:

Monday - Friday AM and PM classes in the program pool

Sunday & Sunday AM classes running in the 25m pool

Learning to Swim Level 2

• 3 children per class

Pre-requirements:

• Breath Control – can blow bubbles with eyes in for 10 seconds.

• Independently swims for 3m 

• Safety Jumps - Jumps into the water, turns around and returns to the wall (unaided)

• Body Position - Almost horizontal in water with good flutter kick.

• Mastered Basic Dog Paddle- Learning basic freestyle

Working towards:

• 3m Independent streamline with strong flutter kick 

• Beginner freestyle arm movement

• Independent Back Kicking (aided and introducing unaided back kicking)

• Confident relaxed back float and recovery with minimal assistance

• Introduction to diving (Seated Dive)

In level 2, students are starting to learn the structure of freestyle and good body position and balance in the water with torpedo's, learning freestyle arms and back kicking with a kick board.

Session times:

Monday - Friday AM and PM classes in the program pool

Saturday & Sunday AM classes in the 25m pool

Learn to Swim Level 3

• 3 children per class

Pre-requirements:

• 3m Independent streamline with freestyle kick.

• Correct freestyle arm movement

• Confident relaxed float and recovery with little assistance

• Safety jump and recovery unaided

Working towards:

• Diving (Seated)

• Introduction to side breathing

• Independently swims 4-5m freestyle

• Independently back kicking and introducing backstroke arms

Students have some swimming experience (can swim 5 meters) Introduction to Freestyle and breathing patterns, Independent back kicking without a board is introduced in this level.

Note: Pre School AM classes only.  Level 3 students who wish to come in the afternoons or on Weekends can book into Level 4.

Session times:

Monday - Friday AM classes only in the program pool

Saturday & Sunday AM classes running

Learn to Swim Level 4

• 4 children per class

Pre-requirements:

• 3m Independent streamline with freestyle kick

• Correct freestyle arm movement

• Confident relaxed float and recovery with little assistance

• Safety jump and recovery unaided

Working towards:

• Diving (seated)

• Introduction to side breathing

• Independently swims 4-5m freestyle

• Independently back kicking and introducing backstroke arms

Level 4 includes the same skills as Level 3 however this level runs in the afternoons and on weekends.  Level 3 students who wish to come in the afternoons or on Weekends can book into Level 4.

Session times:

Monday-Friday AM and PM classes in the program pool

Saturday & Sunday AM classes in the 25m pool

Learn to Swim Level 5

• 5 children per class

Pre-requirements:

• Breath control – turning to the side to breath in correct position

• Correct breathing pattern in freestyle

• Independent back float for 30 seconds

Working towards:

• Introduction to diving (Kneeling)

• Independently swims 10m freestyle technically correct

• Independent streamline backstroke kick

• Correct Backstroke arm movement

• Introduction to breaststroke kick

In this level students are mastering freestyle breathing patterns, continuing building on their backstroke skills and will be introduced to breaststroke kick. 

Session times: 

Monday-Friday PM classes in the 25m pool

Saturday & Sunday AM in the 25m pool

Learn to Swim Level 6

• 5 children per class

Pre-requirements:

• 12.5m technically correct Freestyle swim

• 12.5m technically correct Backstroke swim

Working towards:

• Diving – kneeling and learning shallow dives

• Backstroke – learning starts and finishes

• Developing correct Breastroke kick

In this level we are building endurance in both freestyle and backstroke. Stroke correction is provided and breaststroke arms are being introduced.

Monday-Friday PM classes in the 25m training pool

Saturday AM classes in the 25m training pool

Sunday CLOSED

Learn to Swim Level 7

• 6 children per class

Pre-requirements:

• 50m technically correct Freestyle swim

• 50m technically correct Backstroke swim

• 25m Breastroke

Working towards:

• Diving – kneeling to standard shallow dives

• Introduction to Butterfly Kick

• Endurance

Level 7 is the first of our levels where students are swimming the full length of the 25m pool.  In this level students are mastering freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and introduction to butterfly.  Stroke correction is given.

Monday-Friday PM classes in the 25m training pool  

Saturday AM classes in the 25m training pool 

Sunday CLOSED

Mini Squad

• 7 children per class

• 45 minutes per session

Pre-requirements:

• Diving – shallow diving and streamlining

• Ability to swim 50m Freestyle, backstroke and Breastroke

Working towards:

• 100m technically correct Independent Freestyle swim

• 100m technically correct Independent Backstroke swim

• 50m technically correct Independent Breastroke swim

• 25m Butterfly

• All starts, turns and finishes

Mini squad students are fine tuning their technique and working on their endurance in preparation of advancing to Junior Squad.  Stroke correction is given.

Our team of coaches hold a history of swimming at high levels including state, and their knowledge alone combined with their values and work effort offers our students a great platform to build resilience, strength and ultimately be the best they can be. 

Our Squad team are fully qualified with their Austswim Competitive strokes qualification and are excited to take your children’s swimming ability to the next level.

Junior squad | 60 mins

Private Lessons
