RIDE FOR SICK KIDS
Every year Balance Collective host their annual charity bike event at Balance Collective Mayfield – Ride For Sick Kids. We’re proud to be supporting this fabulous fundraising initiative, with all monies raised to go directly to Ronald McDonald House Northern NSW.
The stationary bike event is held outdoors and we encourage individuals or groups to dress-up, donate and ride! The day is always complimented by activities and fun for the whole family to enjoy! Families with a sick or injured child are going through some of the toughest times in their lives. By participating in Balance’s Ride for Sick Kids you’ll be helping sick kids and their families staying at Ronald McDonald House.
About Ronald McDonald House Northern NSW
Ronald McDonald House Northern NSW helps families throughout Northern NSW who have a sick or injured child be together, because when families are together, they cope better.
For families throughout Northern NSW when disaster strikes and their child is sick or injured there aren’t many options. The medical treatment their child needs is often hundreds of kilometres away. During a time of hardship where families are separated from their loved ones and the uncertainty and stress of their situation is unraveling before them, Ronald McDonald House is there.
Last year more than 770 families were given a ‘home away from home’, providing comfort, support and resources just steps from their child in hospital. More than just a House, over 10,000 families were able to recharge in the Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at John Hunter Children’s Hospital, close by their child’s bedside. 150 families took time to relax and recharge at the Family Retreat in Forster. 100 children could catch up on missed education with support from the Learning Program.
As a 100% community owned and operated charity, they rely on the support of the community to help provide families with an oasis of comfort in a sea of chaos.
